Salem Old Settlers Minutes - January 19, 2004

Those present: Cindy Nichting, Tammy Mumme, Margaret Carlson, Sheila Carr, Doris Onorato, Susie Kuhens, Linda Porhen, and Angie Parker.

Minutes of last meeting and treasurer's report were read and approved by Tammy and seconded by Margaret. Susie K made one change to the savings account balance. Checking: $3688.88 - Savings: $4952.53

Old Business:
  • How many cookbooks are left to sell?
  • Has bean pot been fixed?
  • How many tapestries are left to sell?

    Cindy Nicting reported the City Council approved the memorials for Marjorie Brown and Marjorie Glanzman as well as the memorial for Doctor Brill.
    Danny Mathius and the Outlaws will not be performing this year; instead it was decided to ask the Do's and Don'ts ($1000.00) and Mr Illusion ($250.00). It was also decided to ask Buck and Judy back again and the One-Man Band Texas Jack Baker. Sheila will check with The Hymes family and see if they are still interested in performing.

    Cindy brought exciting news of a carnival offer, which was accepted by the committee. The carnival will be Star Amusements (under new management - Shawn Exum) Rides promised: 6-8 rides Concessions: 4 or more. They will do advanced ticket sales and will provide 25 posters.

    It was decided to do something for the Community Group Dessert Theater. Persons from this committee who will perform will be: Tammy Mumme, Sheila Carr, Doris Onorato, and Margaret Carlson.

    John K and Christi will get with Sandy N to get info on running Chicken BBQ and get a list helpers.

    Next meeting will be the 3rd Monday in February 16, 2004
